We usually think that competition is a form of cooperation since all sides must adhere to the laws of the game, but cooperation is also a form of competition, it is a tool for competition.
“Competition is not only the life of trade, it is the trade of life – peaceful when food abounds, violent when the mouths outrun the food.”
Because cooperation is a weapon for competition, we co-operate with our groups, whether our family, community, church, party, or nation, so that our group can compete with other groups.
War is the ultimate form of competition, and this is why co-operation is an essential component of it, and war is how nations eat, similar to how a group of hunters ate.
Cooperation expands as technologies evolve. We cooperate within our group, family, community, and nation in order to make our group more powerful.
If you are not competing in life, then you cannot develop. You need competition to progress, and to survive.
